Throughput booms at Wallets Marts

WALLETS Marts, at Castle Douglas, reports that it is handling record levels of livestock despite the continuing depressed value.

The group reports that the market handled almost 350,000 head of livestock – a 21% increase on last year.

Wallets reported pre-tax profits of £51,900 but the value of throughput declined by 14%.
