Tong potato grader has a Classic look

AFTER 20 years of building its Caretaker potato grader, Tong Engineering is to introduce a new, higher specification version in the form of the Caretaker Classic.

The launch of the new model coincides with a decision by the company to change its policy of building bespoke graders purely to order.

"More customers are now requiring similar high specification models," says company boss, Charles Tong. "The decision to build a standard model in quantity means that we can reduce prices by more than 5% yet provide additional features at no extra cost."

Features of the Caretaker Classic include use of a 2.1m wide reception hopper, Galaxy separator, Easy-Grad screen size and a three-belt inspection table. Output is said to be up to 40t/hour. &#42
