Tractor sales drop only blip
TRACTOR registrations for August have fallen by 5.5%, compared with the same period last year, reports the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).
But there is no cause for alarm – the large and unrealistic rise in registrations recorded in July has now been balanced by the small fall recorded for August. In fact, the AEA now says the figures show the true picture – a 9.1% increase on the year to date figure.
So, to put figures to it, 2894 tractors over 40hp were registered in August which brings the year to date figure to 14,002. Predictions for the end of year remain optimistic with the AEA expecting a small increase on 1994.
