Tractor sales on the up
Tractor sales continue to be on a roll. The latest figures released by the Agricultural Engineers Association reveal that the number of registrations made in May was 37.8% higher than last year.
With a total of 1438 tractors registered, the year to date figure now totals 6125 – an impressive increase of 44.95% when compared with the same period in 2001.
• THE Irish are also celebrating a rise in tractor sales. According to the countrys Central Statistics Office (CSO), the 565 new tractors sold during January and February represented a 17% increase when compared with the same period last year.
The CSO also reports that second-hand tractor sales are holding firm with there being no decline in the numbers of machines registered this year. *
