Trecan dispersal

CORNISH farmers George and Linda Leigh-Firbank dispersed their Trecan Holstein Friesian herd with prices twice reaching 900gns.

Trecran Man Isabel, a Wiseburrow Mandate daughter, was first to make the top price. This second calver had earned £1210 from her 6402kg heifer lactation and was bought by Messrs Kitto for their herd at Liskeard. Another second lactation cow by Etazon Hokes and due in June, was joint top seller and heads for Bude with Messrs Dauncey.

Served heifers reached 700gns with empty heifers to 390gns.

Averages: 70 cows £603; 41 served heifers £437; 13 bulling heifers £367 and 49 yearling heifers and heifer calves £290. (Greenslade Taylor Hunt) &#42
