Trial confirms wheat spray needs
EXTENSIVE trials co-ordinated by Morley Research Centre, Norfolk, confirm the need to ensure winter wheat is well protected against leaf disease between late stem extension and ear emergence.
Fungicide timing is all-important, though product choice may often be less so, according to a Home-Grown Cereals Authority report* on the work.
It highlights the need to understand the biological properties of different materials, particularly new generation conazoles. And it shows how variety resistance may help cut inputs.
