Trickle feeder for loose-housed sows

LOOSE-housed sows can now be trickle fed using Dropomat feeders introduced by Roxell. It claims its trickle feeder has a positive influence on fertility by reducing stress.

Each individual hopper can be set to offer the twice daily ration. Drop-out speed can be adjusted at the control panel.

Once the ration has been dispensed the feeders are refilled with mash or pellets, ready for the next meal.

No electronic animal identification or specific house layout is required, so investment can be minimal, says Roxell. The system, including feed bin, based on a 200-sow unit, costs £76 a sow place.
