Triple birth beats the odds
By FWi staff
A COW beat odds of 500,000 to one to give birth to triplets on a Lancashire farm, reports the Daily Mail.
Eighty-year-old farmer Tom Ellison from Longridge was stunned to see cow, known as red-and-white, give birth to the trio of Limousin calves.
The farm is 15 miles from the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Clitheroe, and Mr Ellison is hopeful that the disease will not be a problem.
The British Limousin Cattle Society said the odds of the triple birth were half a million to one.
