UK daughters to fore at Showcase
DAUGHTERS of UK-owned bulls will have a strong presence at this years Holstein Friesian Society (HFS) progeny showcase to be held on Thur, Apr 27, at Bingley Hall, Staffs. The US-bred but UK-owned MMB Tennessee, the highest type bull proven in the UK, and his full brother MMB Texas, will both have daughters on display as will the as yet unproven UK-owned Inspiration son Dynasty Prince out of Northsea Starbuck Primrose 2.
Worldwide proven sires with daughters at the showcase include the US bulls Leadman and Southwind (number one active UK proven sire). The Dutch-bred Sunny Boy will be represented by his first-crop UK daughters, and the high type Blackstar son Seabreeze Goldstar, also from Holland, will have Dutch daughters on show.
There will also be groups of progeny by sires from Canada (Combination Supersire, Madaw-aska Aerostar), Italy (Starbrik) and Germany (Belt).
For the first time the showcase will feature a parade of potential bull mothers from throughout the country, selected from the top females ranked on ITEM and including MOET Southwind Flirt 2, who is currently ranked second on ITEM.
