US deal on China under threat
ATTEMPTS by the USA to foster Chinas entry into the World Trade Organisation are foundering in a “feeding frenzy” of anti-China sentiment, reports the Financial Times.
The paper says that US officials are making desperate attempts to prevent further damage to relations with China ahead of the visit by the Chinese premier in April.
The USA is known to be hoping to open up Chinas heavily protectionist agricultural market.
