USA pushes for WTO reform
THE USA is lobbying for reform of the World Trade Organisations disputes settlement procedure in the next world trade round, reports the Financial Times.
It has been unhappy with the European Unions slow response to judgements against it over bananas and hormone-treated beef.
Susan Esserman, deputy US trade representative, said the disputes procedure should be made more transparent, with disputes panels hearings and litigants briefs made public.
