Vaccine ad defended
ANIMAL health company Mycofarm has hit back at critics of its advertising campaign for a new enzootic abortion vaccine.
The Highlands and Islands Sheep Health Association said the adverts could "lull farmers into a false sense of security", because they suggested vaccination was the only way to fight the disease. The HISHA maintained that the only way to keep EAE out of flocks was for farmers to buy female sheep from producers with EAE-free accredited flocks.
But Mycofarm countered that many flocks continued to suffer high losses due to abortion. *
