Vari Width rejigged

PLOUGH manufacturer, Kverneland has redesigned its Vari Width on the move furrow width adjustment mechanism and extended its use into mid-wheel semi mounted ploughs.

Modifications to the Vari Width involve containing the hydraulic adjustment cylinder within a telescoping towing frame, to protect both the cylinder and hoses from damage and to provide operational simplicity.

Ploughs fitted

The new ploughs to which it is fitted are the PG 100 with non-stop auto reset leg protection and the shear bolt protected RG 100, which are available in three sizes from 6- to 8-furrows, adjustable from 35 – 50cm (14-20ins).

Features of the ploughs include a mid-frame wheel position and a compact headstock, which brings the front bodies closer to the tractor and allows tight turns on the headland.

Underbeam clearance is 70/75cm (2ft 3in/2ft 5in) on PG models, 70/80cm (2ft 3in/2ft 7in) on RG models and both have an interbody clearance of 100cm (3ft 3in).

PG models weigh in at 2940 -3800kg, RG versions 2760-3570kg and recommended power requirements for both ranges are 150-200hp.

Prices start at £21,895 for a 6-furrow RG 100 model, going up to £29,145 for an 8-furrow PG 100.
