Veal-calf export ruling detailed

THE Financial Times reports on the nitty-gritty of last weeks European Court ruling on veal calf exports.

The court said that the United Kingdom could not prohibit the export of calves to other European Union members states whose farming systems did not meet the standards laid down in a European convention on animal protection, but which complied with the applicable European Directive.
