Veg grower in 6m expansion plan

A LEADING vegetable grower is investing 6m in a specialist preparation and processing plant.
Frederick Hiam of Ixworth Thorpe, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, says the plant will handle more than 50,000t of veg a year, and create 240 jobs.
The 7150sq m facility, which opens in July, is in response to growing demand for traceable and added value products from retail and catering.
