The debate over whether farming would be better in or out of the EU is splitting opinion among farmers and other agricultural professionals.

A Farmers Weekly poll on Twitter today showed views divided down the middle, with many farmers also saying they were unsure as they didn’t feel they had heard all the arguments yet.

Early this morning the poll, was showing 48% would vote “in”, 35% “out” and 17% undecided.

But steadily through the day the “in” votes dwindled and the “out” camp increased – and by 4.30pm 34% of votes cast were saying farming would be better in and 51% said out, with more than 450 people voting.

We asked farmers at the NFU conference for their views – watch the video.
