Video plug in the aisles for GM food?
THE government is considering the possibility of playing videos in supermarkets to promote a positive message on genetically modified (GM) food.
The proposal is in a report commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture from the Sheffield University school of journalism.
Researchers said that playing videos containing positive messages to shoppers could help counter criticism of GM food.
The idea is being considered by Lord Sainsbury, who is the minister in charge of biotechnology and a former chairman of the supermarket chain founded by his family.
