The question over whether UK agriculture would be better served in or out of the EU was the hot topic at this week’s Oxford Farming Conference.

In a debate on the subject with EU commissioner Phil Hogan, former Defra secretary Owen Paterson described it as the biggest historic decision for the British public since the Reformation.
