MARKS & Spencer has poached a director from Wal-Mart to run its UK food business, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Justin King will move from his position as managing director of Wal-Mart Hypermarkets UK to become “business unit director of foods” for M&S.
Mr King replaces Roger Whiteside who left in March, and will be in charge of a sector which is represents 40% of M&S annual UK sales.
Analysts gave a cool reaction to the news, telling The Telegraph they were “not overawed” by the appointment.
