Wales tackles its TB problem

FOOD safety and animal health will be the dominant topics at the annual conference of the Farmers Union of Wales next Wednesday (May 29).

Carwyn Jones, the Welsh Assemblys rural affairs minister, is expected to give details of a new initiative to tackle the problem of bovine tuberculosis.

This will involve the provision of extra resources to speed up herd testing, but he is not likely to accept industry calls for the mass culling of badgers. &#42
