Walker to leave in year

NFU Scotland president Jim Walker and his two vice-presidents, John Kinnaird and Peter Stewart, were all re-elected unopposed at last weeks AGM.

But Mr Walker has made clear that he intends to step down in a year, by which time he will have completed four years as president.

Although there are rumours of him running for the Scottish Parliament, Mr Walker insists that he has not yet made any plans about his future. "I am not thinking ahead at this stage. I have another year as president of this union and I will commit myself 100% to that role." &#42
