Web links widen second-hand choice

FARM machinery web-site Farmec has established links with agricultural equipment web-sites in Germany and America with the aim of providing a much wider choice of second-hand machinery.

Farmpartner-tec, which claims to be Germanys premier farm machinery portal, and Farmec will pool their used equipment classified listings.

The arrangement will enable Farmec to access Farmpartner-tecs interface, Enterprise Recourse Planning (ERP), which allows dealers inventories to be transferred directly on to websites.

"The web-sites will expose customers to over 7000 pieces of equipment and a valuable second-hand market in eastern Europe," says Emre Oral of Farmec. "The American website, Machinery-Link, will provide an independent online resource for those who want to buy, sell or even learn about farm machinery."

Equipment advertised on www.machinerylink.com will be available to worldwide Farmec customers and, alternately, machines offered through Farmec in Europe will be available to US buyers.

lFarmec has also set up a low-interest in-house financial services package. After finance applications are submitted, Farmec guarantees machinery buyers will receive an answer within four hours of their on-line request. If the application is approved, funds will be made available within 24 hours, says the company. &#42
