Welsh show rivalries

WALES Young Farmers Clubs enjoyed a lively competitions programme at the Royal Welsh Show, with activities ranging from commercial lamb judging to ostrich racing – Berni Clifton style ostriches which were accompanied by their "trainers".

Ostriches also featured in the federation displays, for which the theme was "family farm of the future". The kinds of farms visualised ranged from remote-controlled enterprises to ones where diversifications crowded out farming as we know it today.
