Welsh storm claims

SOME Welsh farming union offices were inundated with requests for damage claim forms after storm-force winds battered south Wales.

Pembrokeshire was particularly badly hit. On Tuesday Jane Howells, FUW executive officer in the county said claims relating to structural damage were flooding in, and the union was handling a lot of requests for help from members who had lost power supplies.

"Damage to buildings seems to have been horrendous in some places, but, fortunately, there have been no early reports of livestock casualties or flooded farmland," said Miss Howells.

Electrical equipment problems, including crashed farm computers, appear to be fairly widespread, she added. &#42
