What are the protests really about?

ARE farmers really protesting about the price of oil, or are they protesting about a long list of problems ranging from BSE to supermarkets profits?

Or are they, as some of the comments on this website suggest, solely interested in damaging a Labour government?

If it is truly a protest about farming hardship, then why have we heard nothing in the media about the successful Welsh farmers protests in 1974 at Holyhead and Fishguard.

Surely it was then that the blueprint for successful farmers protests was laid down.
