WHEREFITNESSCANBEFUN, TOO

WHAT a year! If ever there was a time to treat yourself to some relaxation and revitalisation it is now, and our health farm breaks provide the perfect opportunity for it.

Three nights of "getting away from it all" really can work wonders when coupled with great accommodation, superb pampering, delicious food, a whole range of fun classes for all levels of fitness, a superb spa and gym facilities. You will find all this and more if you join the breaks at our favourite health farms – Springs and Henlow Grange – the perfect places to escape pressure, where you can do as little or as much as you want.

Last year, readers missed out on our annual break to Springs, Packington, Ashby de la Zouch, Leics, as this modern, purpose-built health farm was undergoing refurbishment and extension work costing £8m. Join us from Sun, Nov 4 to Wed, Nov 7 and find just how well the money has been spent.

New facilities include an impressive 25m indoor swimming pool, a deluxe spa area, therapeutic Thalassotherapy (salt water) pool and a physiotherapy department. There are an additional 27 treatment rooms offering traditional, alternative and advanced therapies, new mud treatment rooms, manicure, pedicure and hairdressing salons and much more.

Even Springs surroundings have been given a face-lift and the grounds are now landscaped around four lakes. Springs is certainly looking good and looking different but the essence of the place, its friendly atmosphere and warm, professional staff, remain the same.

Henlow Grange, Henlow, Beds offers a full range of facilities, too, including a 25m indoor swimming pool, heated to a constant 31C (84F) and a state of the art gym, but in a more traditional setting, a Georgian mansion set in over 40ha (100 acres) of parkland by the River Hiz.

Henlow, which has 300 trained staff, is renowned for its beauty treatments and if you are looking to improve your fitness, there is an extensive daily timetable of classes for all levels. Join us at Henlow from Sun, Nov 11 to Wed, Nov 14.
