WIN A TOY TRACTOR

WE have 14 Ertl toy tractors to give away to the winners of our Farmlife picture competition.

They are such good models of vintage Massey-Harris 555s that they are really collectors items. These highly detailed, quality die-cast metal tractors are to 1/16 scale, are steerable, and have rubber tyres and a rear hitch. They are worth £30.

What you have to do to win one of these super prizes is to paint a picture of a farmer at work caring for his or her livestock. He or she may be a sheep, dairy, pig or poultry farmer or someone who raises several different kinds of livestock.

You could picture the work going on on the farm where you live or perhaps you would prefer to paint a purely imagined farm scene. The choice is yours, and if you will be five years old and not yet 12 years by June 2, 1995, then start thinking about your picture right away.

Imagine that the scene you are picturing will appear on the front of FARMERS WEEKLY and make it A4 size – that is 29cm deep by 21cm wide (about 113/4in deep by 8in wide).

You may produce your picture in paints or crayons, just so long as they are strong, clear colours. Make your picture bold, eye catching and of interest to farming people, just as our real cover pictures are intended to be.

Age will be taken into consideration by the judges and the winning entries will be published in FARMERS WEEKLY. No entries can be returned.

Send your pictures to Farmlife/Ertl Picture Competition, FARMERS WEEKLY, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey SM2 5AS to arrive by Fri, June 2, 1995. Please put your name, age and address on the back of your entry.
