Nows the time to make sure you are really worming effectively! High levels of over-wintered worm larvae on pasture, due to last years inability to move stock, has increased the risk of infection.
Enter our Wise up on Worms competition and you could win a free herbage larval test that will tell you the level and species of over-wintered parasitic larvae on your pasture. Also an expertly planned worming programme to select the most effective wormer from one of the three main groups. To avoid resistance, it is best to rotate your use of wormer group on an annual basis.
You could also win a years free supply of the recommended sheep wormer selected from the Novartis range, including Rycoben SC (1-BZ), Sure LD (2-LM) and Depidex drench (3-AV). All come with the on-farm support of our AMTRA-trained Youngs Farm Account Managers.
Rules
1 All entrants who answer the questions correctly will be entered into a prize draw. The winner will receive the first prize of a herbage larval test, a worming programme and a years supply of the recommended wormer up to the value of £2000. Two runners up will receive a herbage larval test and a worming programme.
2 Herbage collection for the herbage larval tests will be undertaken by Youngs farm account Managers. The tests themselves will be independently performed
by the SAC, St Boswells.
3 The decision of the judges will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
4 There are no alternatives to the prizes.
5 Prize winners will be notified by Novartis Animal Health no later than Mar 29, 2002.
6 Prize winners should be willing to be photographed, for publicity purposes,
by Novartis Animal Health.
7 The competition is not open to employees of Youngs or Novartis Animal Health, their agents and families or employees of Reed Business Information.
Depidex Drench contains 0.08% w/v ivermectin. Rycoben SC for Sheep contains 2.5% w/v Ricobendazole, 1.8% w/v hydrated Cobalt Sulphate (equivalent to 3.77 mg elemental cobalt/ml) and 0.19% w/v hydrated Sodium Selenate (equivalent to 0.41 mg elemental selenium/ml).
