Worms attack East African farms
“ARMY worms” have attacked crops in Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi and Rwanda, reports the Financial Times.
The newspaper reports that more than 30,000 ha (74,128 acres) of crops and 70,000 ha (172,967 acres) of pasture in Kenya have been attacked by the worms.
The government has distributed more than 20,000 litres of pesticide to fight the menace.
