Wrappers go green

SEEN for the first time in green is Dowdeswells own range of round bale wrappers.

Drawing on the firms experiences of building wrappers for other manufacturers, the Dowdeswell range includes two tractor-mounted and two trailed versions. All are said to be capable of handling bales up to 1.5m (6ft) wide and up to 1.8m (6ft) in diameter.

Mounted models are badged 725 and 745 and have been developed for operation back at the bale stack where they are fed with bales by a loader, while trailed 825 and 845 models are self-loading.

Dowdeswell claims to offer a wrapper to suit most applications and pockets. The mounted 725 has manual controls for the turntable control, wrapping sequence and unloading. Its trailed equivalent is the 825 which also has manual controls – though operation is via the tractor cab.

Offering greater sophistication is the mounted 745 which uses electronic controls to allow programming for semi- or fully-automatic operation, while the range topping trailed 845 has an automated wrapping sequence and includes a diagnostic system to pinpoint problem areas.

Prices start at £4940 for the mounted 725, rising to £9984 for the electronic 845 trailed wrapper. &#42
