WTO in chaos over leadership change

THE World Trade Organisation is in chaos over the appointment of a new chief, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Two candidates are vying for the job – from New Zealand and Thailand – and member countries have acrimoniously split into supporters of one or the other.

The organisation is in such state of turmoil that it is not able to deal with potential trade wars such as those over bananas or hormone beef, reports the paper.
