WTO plans next meeting

THE World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva will meet this week to begin preparations for its next ministerial meeting in 1999 which will launch new global trade talks.

Officials must decide whether to add more topics to the time-tabled talks on agriculture and services, and whether to have a single round or more staggered negotiations.
