Yellow rust found from north to south

YELLOW rust can be found in crops from the south coast to Northumberland, prompting ADAS to plan their fungicide policies with care.

"It is very much like the old Slejpner days," says ADASs Bill Clark. "Where you have got a susceptible variety, you will see the disease."

Do not rely on protectant products alone where yellow rust is a risk, he warns.

"An adequate triazole should be mixed in. Yellow rust will go on getting worse for up to 10 days after spraying if growers rely on protectant activity alone." &#42
