Your farming photos could win a £100 prize

RECKON youre a dab hand with the camera? Do you have some pictures of farming scenes that youre particularly fond of? If the answer is yes, then wed like to hear from you. Its the time of the year for the farmers weekly Photo Competition.

As in previous years, were after particular types of photograph.

Livestock scenes. This could be anything from a herd of Charolais to a new-born calf. It could be a pig in a bath or a flock of sheep high on a Welsh hillside.

Arable scenes. Many images from the cropping year are naturally photogenic. Perhaps you have one thats particularly striking.

General farm activities. Some photos wont fall into either of the above categories, but were still just as interested in them.

Humour. Every farm has its humorous moments and theyre often caught by the quick-witted amateur. If theres a photo that made you smile in 2001, it could be the winner of this category.

Children. Children on farms grow up in quite different surroundings from those of their urban and suburban contemporaries. They provide some of this competitions nicest pictures.

Nature. If you have a photograph of a pheasant or a mouse, a strange cloud formation or a particularly magnificent tree on the farm, it could be the ideal candidate for the first prize in this category.

Apart from this, the rules are blissfully simple.
