The award is open to anyone who has an innovative and practical idea which they believe will add value to the British pig and poultry industry.
“Whether it’s an opportunity to increase demand or add product value, a concept for reducing costs or increasing efficiency, or a way to improve animal welfare or reduce carbon footprint, now is the time to stand up and be counted,” said AB Agri’s Donna Rose.
The winner will be announced at the Pig and Poultry Fair on 16 May, where selected finalists will receive the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of leading influencers within British food and farming.
“It’s a great opportunity for individuals with the best ideas to really be seen and be heard by industry influencers,” said Alice Bell, of RASE Events.
“The first ABN Innovation Award in 2010 was a great success, and we are looking forward to more fantastic innovations this year.”
For the first time the competition is open to all ages. Closing date for entries is Monday 16 April and all entrants must be available to attend the fair on 15-16 May 2012.
