A team of eight runners from egg packer LJ Fairburn has raised almost £2,000 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance – the company’s charity of choice – by taking part in the Lincoln 10K “Active Nation” road race on Sunday 6 April.

So far this year, the packer has donated a further £2,000 to the local air ambulance, with 1p/doz of its Lincolnshire Free Range Eggs sold in Co-op and Asda stores being donated to the charity.

Sarah Louise Fairburn, brand director at LJ Fairburn, said: “The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a charity close to our hearts. We support the air ambulance on a daily basis and have so far raised well over £2,000 for the dedicated medical air service, which is so important to everyone in our locality.”

In total, it costs £1.8m a year to keep the helicopter in service.
