A Lincolnshire poultry firm has been given permission for a major expansion, despite protests from local residents.

Padleys Farm, Billinghay, has been told by North Kesteven District Council (on 10 January) that it can build four new units that will house 100,000 birds.

The company will also be allowed to erect the necessary infrastructure to service the new buildings.

Planners overruled objections by nearby residents, who had been protesting over what they saw as increased traffic from heavy goods vehicles and increased noise and smell.

The planners said there would be a substantial benefit to the area from the increased economic activity at the expanded unit.
