Noble Foods’ most recognisable brand, the happy egg co, has launched its biggest TV advertising campaign to date – securing prime-time slots highlighting the range enrichments afforded to happy egg hens.

The 30-second advert (and a shorter 10-second version, below) was shot on free-range producer Jean-Paul Michalski’s Hereford farm and is set to the ’80s hit “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, re-recorded for happy egg by pop star Alexandra Burke.

It will premier on 5 October during X Factor – one of the most popular shows on TV – as well as appearing in ad breaks between Downton Abbey and Coronation Street.

Steve Horton, marketing director at the happy egg co, said the firm had aimed for transparency by using its own farm and flock.

“The campaign offers a great insight into the life of our girls and the ways in which we go above and beyond to deliver the very best tasting eggs to our customers,” he added.

A spokesperson said the series of adverts cost a “six-figure sum”, and follow happy egg’s largest on-pack campaign, Find Freda, a competition launched in August that the company says more than 100,000 people have entered to date.
