Helen Ross named new NFU poultry adviser

The NFU has appointed a new poultry adviser to replace Chris Dickinson, who has moved on to become county adviser for West Riding.

Helen Ross is expected to join the poultry team within the next six weeks. She has worked for the NFU for two-and-a half years as a farm policy adviser.

Before that she graduated from Harper Adams in 2011 with a degree in agriculture, land and farm management, part of which involved a year spent at the NFU’s communications department.

She is from a mixed farm in North Warwickshire, and now lives on a beef, sheep and arable farm with her partner.

Ms Ross said that, although poultry was relatively new to her, she had a “keen interest in it”.

“I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the industry,” she added.
