Lintz Hall Farm picks up new supermarket business

North east egg producer Lintz Hall Farm picked up new business just days after being named the 2013 Farmers Weekly Poultry Farmer of the Year.

The firm, run by brothers Richard and Stephen Tulip, has announced that a deal has been struck to supply its Derwent Valley Brand free-range eggs to 11 Morrisons outlets in the north east of England and southern Scotland.

The two brothers have also built on their existing business with Tesco, now selling eggs into 30 Tesco Express stores across the region as well as the existing supply to the larger supermarkets.

Richard Tulip, sales and marketing director for Lintz Hall Farm, called the new contracts “another feather in the cap”.

He added that the plan for the new year was to grow the Scottish business with a new egg distribution depot at Coldstream, Berwickshire.

The business now supplies its Lintz Hall Premier Quality and Derwent Valley brands to supermarkets Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and Express outlets; Nisa and Costcutter stores regionally, as well as a number of independent retailers, restaurants, hotels, cafés and public sector bodies.
