Moy Park sees turnover top £1bn

Moy Park has announced sales revenues of £1.07bn in the year ending 31 December 2011; however, operating profits were just £7.4m.

The Northern Ireland food company, which employs over 10,000 people in 13 processing plants across Europe, reported a sales uplift of 16.4% against the previous year.

Nigel Dunlop, chief executive said that margins were affected by increases in the price of feed and other raw materials. The company also invested £32m in capital expenditure over 2011.

“Exceeding £1bn in sales revenues is a landmark achievement for Moy Park. We have continued to deliver a positive financial performance in the face of difficult trading conditions and are committed to building a strong and sustainable future.”

Mr Dunlop said that the landmark turnover was “made possible by a great team of people across the business”.
