SAC is offering industry professionals an online version of its postgraduate diploma and masters degree course in applied poultry science.


Launched at the Pig and Poultry Fair, the new service is targeted at those at middle management level who do not have the time to study full-time, but who want to improve their qualifications to boost their careers.

“The problem for these people is they work long hours and usually have family commitments. Going back to college for two years is out of the question,” said programme leader Jill Offer

Much of the course work can be done at home on a PC or laptop. Advice is available at the end of a phone and there are also online tutorials and study weekends.

The course covers a mix of technical, scientific, nutritional, environmental and management skills and is suitable for nutritionists, breeders and even vets seeking to develop their careers.
