Peahen strutting about Sutton

The Forager was disappointed to learn that a local newspaper had beaten it to an unusual bird story on its own patch.

The Sutton Guardian, which is published in the same building as Poultry World had this exclusive scoop in last week’s paper:

Scansuttonguardian

Apparently a Peahen has been roaming the streets of Sutton for several weeks right under the Forager’s nose. According to the newspaper the bird became something of a local celebrity, and local residents have been sharing photos of the free-ranging peahen.

It’s been spotted a number of times over the past few weeks, but fortunately the newspaper has reported its capture and subsequent safe return to its home, Hobbledown children’s farm in Epsom. Phew.

Why those local residents didn’t think to contact the Forager, we’ll never know.
