Poultry Health Course now offered online

Poultry vets and other professionals will soon be able to take part in the Pirbright Institute’s renowned Poultry Health Course from the comfort of their offices or homes.

The course, which has been running for more than 40 years on a face-to-face basis, is now being offered online, in partnership with the University of Nottingham.

The online version, which is being rolled out in October, covers the same content as the two-week residential version and features a series of interactive tutorials to help reinforce students’ learning.

It will include lectures on major non-infectious and infectious diseases and the associated pathogens, together with problems in production and approaches to disease control.

Lectures will be released sequentially over an eight month period until May 2016.

The course can be attended as continuing professional development (CPD), and students can also opt to sit an exam at the end of it.

UK based agri-food professionals can take advantage of 50% bursaries under the AgriFood Advanced Training Partnership, which will halve the £1,700 cost (or £2,200 with the examination).
