TERRY WOGAN will be invited to eat a Christmas dinner as he broadcasts his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show as part of British Turkey‘s 2004 Christmas campaign.
A plate of hot turkey with all the trimmings will be delivered to 14 radio DJs including Mr Wogan, Sarah Kennedy and Radio 1‘s Chris Moyles, on Dec 1.
Kim Burgess, chairman of the British Turkey Sector Group‘s publicity and marketing committee, said the stunt would raise the profile of the Quality British Turkey mark.
The committee had wanted to start the campaign in a fun way and getting DJs to talk about turkey live on air meant the campaign could hit an estimated 30m households.
“With the threat of cheap imports and fears over quality it is more important than ever for retailers and consumers to demand the Quality British Turkey mark on packs,” she said.
“The mark guarantees they are buying meat from farmers and producers who achieve some of the highest standards in the world.”
