Tesa Panisello joins Inchcolm Veterinary Services

Specialist poultry vet Tesa Panisello has joined the team at Inchcolm Veterinary Services, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in the sector.


Ms Panisello is an RCVS registered veterinary surgeon specialised in poultry, who in her student years conducted postgraduate studies in food safety and security in the Institute Pasteur in France.


Her experience includes time in practice, working with both the egg layer and the broiler industries.


After that period, in 1990, she joined Agusti Roig in Spain as production technical director, including responsibility for feed formulation and quality control.


Subsequently she held positions with Pfizer’s Department of Animal Nutrition, Cyanamid and Novus.


More recently, she was appointed director of the Poultry Business Unit of Fort Dodge Animal Health for Spain and Portugal.


During this time, she helped develop new molecular diagnostic platforms for the detection and identification of variant IBD and IB viruses in the European market.


After Pfizer (now Zoetis) took over Fort Dodge, she continued leading the Poultry Business Unit with added responsibility for the In-Ovo-Ject technology and for feed additives.


Her main scientific interests are intestinal and digestive physiology, intestinal homeostasis and health, Marek’s disease, Gumboro disease and infectious bronchitis.
