A strange sight, Turkey eggs, never before sold in a UK supermarket

The eggs are apparantly good for baking and give cakes a light fluffy texture.

Turkey eggs are normally not seen because the birds lay far fewer than chickens but you might see them on the increase as Waitrose says demmand for specialist eggs is increasing.

You won’t be making too many omlettes out of these monsters though with just two eggs setting you back £1.99. They will be on shelves untill mid-August.
