David and Helen Brass

The deadline for this year’s Poultry Farmer of the Year falls at the end of April, so time is running short to get your entry in.

What is it?

It’s part of the Farmers Weekly Awards. Quite simply, it’s one of the most prestigious awards in agriculture and the biggest night in the farming calendar.

What’s the benefit?

Winning is a recognisable mark of excellence. Whether you’re negotiating with customers or offering advice, being a category winner is a real sign of your worth. Not only that, all three finalists get to attend the awards ceremony in London in October – an invaluable networking opportunity.

How do I enter?

Visit awards.fwi.co.uk and download an entry form or nominate someone you think should be in the running. Spend some time on your form, and really include as much detail as you can – you really need to stand out.

What happens next?

Three judges will look over every entry form in detail, before selecting three finalists. They will then visit your business and conduct a detailed interview. The winner is announced at the awards night at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Good luck – and remember, entries need to be in before 30 April.
