Rival Christmas turkey producers, Copas and Kelly’s, battled it out for supremacy at the recent British Turkey Awards, at the Savoy in London.

First blow was struck by veteran turkey entrepreneur, Tom Copas, who picked up the coveted Rupert Chalmers-Watson award for his lifetime of service to the sector.

Paul Kelly then struck back, outbidding the Copas table in the charity auction to win seven nights in a luxury Barbados villa for six – a snip at two grand.

But the killer blow was struck by one of the Copas contingent, sales manager Emma Wharfe, who won hands down in the “who can gobble like a turkey” competition, ironically organised by the aforementioned Paul Kelly.

It was a strange evening…..
