LAND AGENT Halls achieved a “record” price for land in the area when it put several properties in the west midlands under the hammer recently.

The top price achieved for bare land was for 2.5 acres of pastureland at Bliss Gate, Rock, near Bewdley, Worcs, which made £44,000.

“This represents £17,600 an acre which must be a record for agricultural accommodation land in that area,” said auctioneer Roger Sadler.

But a five-acre parcel and some former farm buildings near Dudley, Staffs, with the potential for use as stables, made even more, going for £101,000 (£22,000/acre).
